A first conversation
What’s on your mind?
We’ll talk about the business, the decisions ahead, and whether 1271 is the right fit. This is an introductory conversation, not a detailed financial review.
Please do not include tax returns, account numbers, passwords, or other sensitive financial information.

Before we talk
A few common questions.
Do I have to replace my accountant?
You do not automatically need to replace your accountant or bookkeeper. Start by understanding the current arrangement and whether the information can support the work. 1271’s role is financial advisory around business performance, cash, and decisions.
What happens when the books need work?
Identify the gaps first. When bookkeeping cleanup is needed, it is separately scoped, with responsibilities and timing agreed before relying on the results. Transactional bookkeeping and cleanup are not automatically part of the advisory engagement.
Is tax preparation included?
Tax preparation is not automatically included in 1271 advisory work. It must be expressly agreed in scope with an identified provider. The focus of 1271 is financial advisory for running the business.
What happens in the first conversation?
The first conversation is a chance to understand your business, the decisions and questions ahead, and whether an advisory relationship is a sensible fit. It is not a detailed financial review, and no financial-document upload is needed.

What we collect and why
The inquiry form asks for your name, email address, company, optional phone number, and message. We use this information to respond, understand the business and your questions, assess whether an engagement is a fit, and maintain records of the conversation. Please do not submit tax returns, account numbers, passwords, or other sensitive financial information.
How inquiries are handled
Submissions are sent securely to Formspree, which processes them, retains a copy in its submission inbox, and sends an email notification to marcus@twelveseventyone.com. Copies may therefore be held in Formspree and our email system. The website itself does not keep a separate inquiry database.
Formspree and the website hosting provider may process technical information, such as network addresses and browser information, for delivery, security, spam prevention, and service operation. The hosting platform also provides site-usage analytics. These services may process information outside your location. See Formspree’s privacy policy ↗ and the hosting provider’s privacy policy ↗.
How long information is kept
Inquiry information that does not lead to a client engagement will ordinarily be retained for up to 12 months after the last substantive interaction, unless a longer period is reasonably necessary for legal, security, or business-record purposes. Client information is governed by the applicable client-record retention practices.
Questions and requests
You may contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your inquiry information, or to raise a privacy concern. We may need to confirm your identity and may retain information where permitted or required by applicable law.
